The wound is clean and healing well. I have no pain and barely noticeable sensitivity where the skin is exposed. I am ready to run but I have to wait. In the meanwhile there is a silent dialogue in my head.
Voice 1: “Maybe I can tape it and run.”
Voice 2: “That is stupid. Let it heal completely.”
Voice 1: “But I got a shot. So I should be ok.”
Voice 2: “Nope. Still a bad idea. The skin is exposed.”
Voice 1: “At this rate, your running will be at an average of 1 run a fortnight!”
Voice 2: “We’ve been there before. It doesn’t matter. A couple of days of continuous running and you will be back.”
End of conversation and back to twiddling my toes.
