It’s been a few months since I ran with the Coach. A good 10k to refresh the basics and get cues on the road ahead. I was more relaxed today, didn’t feel under pressure, unlike earlier runs when I felt less confident about my running.

One of the things that dawned on me was that the minute I think I am running fast, something kicks in and I think I cannot. That’s when I slow down. I don’t know what the block is or why it comes up, but it happens. It is strange because in the moments when I am a little faster, I actually feel free (think Forrest Gump breaking his leg braces) but then I shackle myself again. It is not a physical block, more a mental one.
 
All said and done, a beautiful crisp morning run on empty roads.
